General Dermatology
We are a full service dermatology practice. We enjoy treating complex medical dermatology patients of all ages.
Medical dermatology conditions include the following: acne, eczema, psoriasis, lichen planus, pityriasis lichnoides, contact dermatitis, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and other inflammatory diseases. We also treat a wide range of infectious conditions including warts, molluscum contagiosum and folliculitis. We offer narrow-band ultraviolet light therapy.
Comprehensive Patch Testing
Current Dermatology offers Comprehensive Patch Testing, which is a special test for people who have chronic rashes or dermatitis.
We use an expanded panel of allergens over the normal 35 allergens that is typically offered. Patch testing screens for contact allergies and this is different from what most people think of as allergy testing. No needles are involved! We apply up to 84 common contact allergens to the skin and these are left on for several days. To us at Current Dermatology, though, patch testing is more than just identifying the allergen. We work with patients to help them find products that are safe for them to use and educate them on what chemicals to avoid. Please contact us if you have a chronic rash that just won't go away!
Cancer Care
Non-melanoma skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States according to the National Cancer Institute.
In 2009, over one million new cases are expected. As part of our desire to fully treat the dermatology patient, we perform full body skin exams looking for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. Evaluation and treatment for skin cancer can involve topical chemotherapy regimens, use of liquid nitrogen or cryosurgery, biopsy of suspicious skin lesions, and surgical treatment of diagnosed skin cancers. We feel that patients with a history of significant sun exposure should incorporate routine skin exams into their comprehensive medical care.
Surgical Services
Our surgical services include excision of atypical moles, surgical removal of benign lesions like cysts and lipomas and surgical treatment of skin cancers.
Medical Cosmetic Services
We provide a full range of cosmetic services and sell several therapeutic skin care lines.
We offer chemical peels for a variety of conditions including cosmetic rejuvenation, precancerous skin lesions, dyschromia (uneven pigmentation), rosacea and acne. Physician administered treatments like Botox for movement based wrinkles and dermal fillers for deeper, static wrinkles are available. We also offer laser services for a variety of conditions.
